C Wayne McAllister is a musician, sound designer, and film composer from South Louisiana.
McAllister creates dreamy ambient soundscapes as well as arrangements including elements of hip hop, folk, dub, and classic pop. He is fond of vintage styles of soul, library music, and European film scores. During covid, C Wayne developed and built the Celette, a mini celesta based on resonator mounted meditation style chimes.
In 2022, BMI awarded McAllister two Film Music Awards for his original scores for Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets and Socks On Fire. Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets was also recognized at Sundance, and Socks On Fire received top honors at TriBeCa Film Festival. Cinema Eye Honors has recognized McAllister twice as a nominee in Outstanding Original Score for his work on The Ross Brothers’ films Western and Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets.
Over the past decade C. Wayne has written music for several feature films, documentaries, and podcasts – including work with The Ross Brothers, John Maringouin, Bing Liu and Patagonia, Time Magazine/Court 13, and C13 Originals/Audacy.
Films featuring McAllister’s music have been screened at festivals such as Sundance, TriBeCa, SXSW, Venice International Film Festival, and Centre Pompidou Paris.
C Wayne kept a busy schedule as a musician in New Orleans for many years, and has recorded and/or performed with artists including Langhorne Slim, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Bauhaus front Peter Murphy, The Special Men, and The New Orleans Bingo! Show.
